Below is the information on getting you started on the Sandbox Environment.

1) Sandbox Environment User Credentials

If you are on Sandbox Environment,  follow the below steps to get your sandbox account credentials:

  1. Login to https://developer.ringcentral.com/ using your Developer Platform credentials (RC account credentials)
  2. Go to your Sandbox Account page: "My Account > Sandbox Account". Locate the "Main Company Number" which will be your username when formatted in E.164 format, (example: +12223334444).
  3. The password is the password you received via email when you created the sandbox account, unless you have changed the password.

The above credentials can also be used for logging into, and reset at, the Online Account Portal for Sandbox Environment at: https://service.devtest.ringcentral.com/

2.) Create an Application on Sandbox Environment

  1. Login to https://developer.ringcentral.com/ using your Developer Platform credentials (RC account credentials)
  2. Under Applications -> Create a new Application as per your requirements.
  3. To retrieve app key and secret key : Find your application key and secret by clicking on My Account -> Applications -> Application Name. Use Sandbox Application key and secrets

3.) RingCentral API Explorer

The easiest way to start testing our APIs would be by using our  API Explore here  http://ringcentral.github.io/api-explorer/. You can start filling out your RC sandbox credentials and start going from there. We have self explanatory documentation in the link above

4.) Documentation

You can find all the necessary documentation with our API’s could be looked up here at : https://developer.ringcentral.com/api-docs/latest/index.html

Hi Jude,

The error that you are seeing could have been due to multiple attempts on sandbox account creation. If you are still getting the same error message while you create a sandbox account, please log a case with 'devsupport@ringcentral.com' with your RC account details :

https://developer.ringcentral.com/support.html
I am having the exact same issue as Jude above. I have submitted a support case and am hoping for a resolution.

Could you please try again to create a sandbox account and verify it if you are able to successfully create one.

Thanks.

Anil, I tried again with the same error result. "Oops! It seems like something went wrong with your last sandbox account creation. Please try again!"

I have submitted support cases 04156804 (and before that, 04151632) with no results. We have tried to gain access to your faxing API for weeks now, and frustratingly, we still do not have it. If RingCentral does not grant us access shortly then we will choose another solution.

The issue is longer persistent and we have created the Sandbox Account for you. Please take a look at your account in the Developer Portal.

The Server Endpoint is for the Sandbox Environment. You would be able to login to  https://service.devtest.ringcentral.com/ using your Sandbox Account Credentials only.

However to login to https://developer.ringcentral.com/  you should be using the Main RC Company Number and not the Sandbox Number.

Please take a look at this video on "Getting Started as a RingCentral Developer" :

We have had some occasional issues with UK accounts, if you've emailed devsupport@ then you'll be in the support queue for assistance. I've also contacted our team to help.

Hi Yasmin,

We have created a ticket and the team is working on it.

You should have received an email from us on the 02/09/2016. However, we are working on it and we would get back once resolved. We appreciate your patience on this.

I'm trying to use my sandbox credentials, but I don't know my password, and I don't see it in my inbox. I can reset it, but I don't know the answer to my security question. I tried the one I use for my production account but it didn't work. Is there a generic sandbox answer to the security question?
