With digital doorbells becoming more popular and effective for businesses just as much as for residential purposes, it would be ideal to be able to redirect a doorbell SIP call over to RingCentral App (Android, iOS, Mac, Windows) and be able to talk to whomever is at the door.
We do not currently support video via WebRTC, so for now that part is out of the idea is not feasible.
I'm intrigued by your use case, however I have little experience with Doorbell SIP (I understand it is SIP, but I don't know about the systems/applications which these use to make it operational).
Is this for a specific vendor of Doorbell SIP, or manufacturer?
I know we do not expose our SIP trunks externally (despite our WebRTC interface which registers a SIP client), so I don't know if you could forward/transfer to a RingCentral number. But if you can extend the Doorbell SIP application with our WebRTC, that might satisfy the voice portion of this idea.
Could you provide some more specifics on your idea please?
