Need MMS integration with Zapier! - MMS Automation

I was building an automation campaign and much to my chagrin, I am unable to get Zapier to send MMS through RingCentral. Why is RingCentral's MMS being withheld from Zapier integration?

There are many ways in which I wish to use MMS with RingCentral in an automated fashion. For example, with a client welcome kit, I would like to send a vcard to every new client as a part of the onboarding process. It lends to clients who have you on speed dial and who are very happy they're dealing with a modern business that cares.

Please add MMS to your Zapier integration!

As a workaround I can share a vcard link via the RingCentral SMS-Zapier integration, but it's MUCH less effective than sharing our vcard file directly via MMS.

Have you been able to figure out a better work around, trying to figure this out myself right now.

What stinks is short links are not working with RingCentral's SMS right now (it's a known bug with no known ETA on the fix). Bitly, tinyurl, you name it, they're not working - you get an error message because RC won't even send them. So not only can I not send MMS, but SMS isn't working fully either.

Atari800xl, how did you send your SMS message with tinyurl or bitly and got the error? I use the soft phone and SMS API to send a bitly url and it works well. Would love to here how to got the error and help you to solve the problem.

@Phong Vu - Google shortened URLs are done for, so that's not the best example, but my existing goo.gl urls seem to work fine. RingCentral is aware of and is working on the bitly and tinyurl fix, it's a known bug. See images.

I'm using an http post which goes to a catch webhook in Zapier. Then I'm attempting to send a text with one of these shortened urls. Bit.ly is great because you can use custom naming schemes so it makes using merge fields very doable in an automation system like Infusionsoft.

Hi Atari800xl,

Thanks for the extra info! I was not aware of this issue and I will check internally to see the status of the bug fix.

Phong Vu,

I think the original intent of my post was lost. What I want, and others who have commented/liked this, is for RingCentral to create an MMS app with Zapier. RingCentral has the SMS app with Zapier and it works. Just need MMS.

There are SO MANY uses for the Zapier MMS integration.

Does anyone want to be able to automate sending the following?:

• Images: jpg/jpeg, png, gif, bmp, tif/tiff
• Videos: 3gp, mp4, mpeg, flv, wmv, mov
• Audio: mp3
• Files:  vcf/vcard, zip, rtf, html

RingCentral doesn't have the Zapier integration so you need a developer to accomplish this.

How is this not a thing?  Thought it was 2019?

This is the biggest thing you could do right now.

This is so crucial.  When integrating your VOIP system into your marketing efforts but you can't send an MMS is like having handcuffs on.  It's a serious deal breaker when it comes to choosing a new provider.
