Does Ring Central have any projects in the roadmap to allow sending emergency notifications to employees in response to a crisis or address a potential problem in the event of a disaster?  We are seeking a way to communicate with employees via text, where a self service portal could allow for executives to communicate with their employees via a group distribution list.

Currently, we do not offer an "off-the-shelf" solution for this use case.

I am interested in what you are wanting to achieve and would like to know if you could help provide answers to the following questions which would help better define your use-case.

  1. When you say "...sending emergency notifications..." could you please describe the exact channels you would want to use in this scenario? Email? SMS? Instant Message? ALL / SOME / NONE of these?

  2. What exactly does the word "text" mean in the part of your description "...communicate with employees via text..."

  3. Is this solution only permitted for executives? What about your facilities team, or HR team, wouldn't they be appropriate for use as well?

  4. When you say "group distribution list", that sounds like email to me, is that what you intended or did you have something else in mind?

  5. How did you plan to localize this type of system to provide pertinent information, or were you just planning on doing company-wide notifications?

  6. What type of safeguards and access protections would you expect a system like this to provide?
